I’ve been there, freaking out, and wondering what party I should throw, although I’ll admit that I tend to have my freak out like 6 months in advance! I stress about ideas for birthday party themes for girls, but love them at the same time.

Top 10 Birthday Party Themes For Girls
1. Tea Party
Unpack all your fine china, and host a small group of girls to a high tea. Have the party in the afternoon, give them all fancy hats to wear and dine on scones and cucumber sandwiches. You can even ask your guests to bring their moms along to join the fun!
2. Make Your Own Pizza Party
Decorate your main table with a red and white checkered tablecloth like an old Italian restaurant. Make your own chef chats from tissue paper and poster board, and buy aprons for the kids they can decorate themselves with fabric markers. Teach your young chefs to make an Italian dinner including Biscuit Dough Personal Pizzas and Salad On A Stick.

3. Daddy/Daughter Home Depot Party
What could be better than having all your daughter’s friends over and also their dads?! Trust me, dads can be really fun! Invite all the dads and daughters over for a couple hours of Home Depot construction building.
Go by your local Home Depot and ask if they have any of the kids Build and Grow kits – they might even give them to you for free!
In my case, they gave me a whole set of picture frame building kits along with paint, aprons, pins, plates, and paint brushes – all for free!
We simply set up a table in our backyard with hammers and let the dads help the daughters build! Throw in a daddy/daughter obstacle course complete with dad having to make a ponytail and put makeup on their daughter!
4. Cupcake Decorating Party
If your child loves to help you bake, then this is the perfect party for her and all her friends! Make your own aprons out of dishtowels for each attendant, bake the cupcakes ahead of time and supply lots of frosting, sprinkles and piping tips.
If you are good with special piping techniques, you may want to give a quick lesson on how to pipe a cute flower or puppy dog!
Then let the little bakers go wild! You can also make your own “Pin The Candle On The Cupcake” game (like the Pin The Tail On The Donkey) by simply printing out a giant cupcake and pasting on poster board. Then print out enough small candles for each party-goer, spin them up, and let them try to pin their candle on the cupcake!
5. Art Extravaganza Party
Does your daughter love to paint, color, and draw? If so, then an art party is just what she will love! You can find a bunch of “how to paint” video tutorial on You Tube of simple things like a puppy dog, or a flower, or a donut. Once your guests arrive, give a simple tutorial to the party-goers and then let them paint on individual canvases.
You can serve a 6 layered rainbow cake – with each layer being a different bright color if you love baking or if you want to tackle something new. I’ve never made one of these cakes, but have always wanted to! For thank you gifts, give each guest their own watercolor paint set or simply let them take home their painting.

6. Cheerleading Party
If your daughter loves Cheerleading, then throw her a Cheerleading Birthday Party! When guests arrive do some simple face paint of a words like “Go Team” and add a dusting of glitter. Start the fun by making your own megaphones from poster board.
All you have to supply is the poster board, stickers, and markers, and have each child decorate and color their own.

Another fun activity is to make a simple ribbon hair tie and then give each attendant a set of pom-poms, and teach them a very simple cheer. If you know any high school cheerleaders, ask a few of them to come and teach the girls a very simple cheer.
Trust me, your party guests will love having the older girls come and demonstrate! Encourage the older girls to wear their cheer outfits to make it even more fun! End the party with with mini megaphone cakes made out of waffle cones! Don’t forget to take lot of of photos! This is still one of my favorite birthday party themes for girls!

7. Pool Party
My kids love swimming and because they have birthdays in the summer, a pool party is a great way to celebrate! If you happen to live in a neighborhood with a community pool, see if you can have a small party at the pool. You can also check your local recreation center or community pool and if you have a certain amount of kids, you may get a discount on admission.
A pool party is simple, the main activity is swimming! All you need to bring are a few simple decorations like balloons and a table cloth and don’t forget the food because for some reason, swimming always makes my kids act like they are starving and haven’t eaten for days! Seriously, what is it about swimming that makes you soo hungry?
8. Soccer Party
Sports related parties can be so much fun! My daughter loves soccer and so do a lot of her girlfriends, so having a soccer party is a great idea for her! If you daughter loves basketball, or softball – then cater your party to the sport they love.
Create a ‘Soccer Olypmics’ – which means, divide the party guests into two teams and they race each other doing simple soccer related skills challenges. Some of our favorite challenges include: Shoot Out on the goal, Long Ball competition (who can kick the ball the farthest), Obstacle Course, Ball Skills (weaving between cones), etc.
The team with the most points at the end wins! You can also make your own soccer ball pinata and hand out homemade medals for the whole ‘team’ to take home!
9. Donuts and Dolls Party
Have you ever had a donut cake for a birthday cake? Such a simple and EASY way to make birthday cake! My children LOVE donuts, and I have to admit, we have had donut cakes at quite a few of our birthday parties over the years because this type of cake is so easy!
You simply purchase a dozen donuts and layer in a circle on a platter, making a tall tower as you build up the donuts. It’s a neat visual effect and only takes a few minutes to do – add some candles and you are done!
To eat, you simply give each party-goer a donut! Also, if you are lucky enough to be hosting your party in early June, you may find a great deal on donuts!
June 7 is National Donut Day, and my local grocery store offers a 50% discount on donuts purchased that day. They even let you order them in advance to be picked up that day (you’d think I might have done this before, right? You are soo right)! Check with your local grocery store and see if they offer a discount too!
To have a donut and doll party, invite your guests to bring their favorite 18in doll, all dressed up, and have your dolls join the guests for the whole party.
Enjoy activities like creating paper doll outfits, showing your guests some fancy ways to do their dolls hair (just look up some new ideas on Pinterest or YouTube). Of course, end the party with a donut cake!
10. PJ’s and Pancakes
If your child loves breakfast, this is the perfect party for her! Have an early morning breakfast party – say around 8:30am – and have your guests arrive in their favorite pajamas. Serve all sorts of yummy breakfast foods like pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, hot cocoa, orange juice, eggs, waffles, etc.
