Late To The Instant Pot Game
I’m not usually late to the party. But, this time, I totally was. Talk about dragging your feet! For some reason I did not even want to go down the Instant Pot road.
I have heard all sorts of people talk about just how wonderful the Instant Pot is, for years. Silly me, I thought the Instant Pot was just another crockpot, and I already loved my crockpot. Why would I need another one, let alone want to pay for another one?
Boy was I wrong! My Instant Pot is a not just a crock pot, it’s like a dream machine! It sautes, cooks super fast, steams, cooks slow, and so much more – it’s truly amazing! Because I love it so much, I’m going to share 5 frugal instant pot recipes that I love and that my family has really enjoyed.
I finally decided I needed an Instant Pot for Christmas when the price was below $50. For that price, I guess I’ll give it a try. I’m so glad I did! Christmastime is a great time to invest in an Instant Pot, because there are always great deals for them. If you have been hearing about just how amazing the Instant Pot is and are finally ready to get one for yourself, you can buy an Instant Pot now!
Where To Get The Best Deal On An Instant Pot
I get asked this question a lot. Where can I get the best deal on an Instant Pot? I will tell you that I bought mine from Target on Black Friday for $49.95. Which was an awesome deal!
Plus, I got free shipping right to my door and I also saved 5% using my Red Card, and I even had a $5 gift card from my recent purchase of hairspray the week before. Needless to say, I got a great deal! But, that doesn’t mean you can always find a great deal.
The regular retail price for an Instant Pot right now is about $80. That price fluctuates all the time. I’ve seen them as high at $150 all the way down to $49.95. Black Friday is a great time to pick one up. Anytime between Black Friday and Christmas is another great time to find a good deal on an Instant Pot.
With that being said, there are always deals to be found online – but you never know when the price will go up or down. You can buy the Instant Pot Duo 6qt that I have right now.
Check around, see if you can find a used one from a friend that no longer wants it (which would be crazy, but a great deal for you). Or use your Ibotta cash to buy one and shop through TopCashBack, if you decide to buy one online so that you can earn cash back on your purchase.

5 Frugal Instant Pot Recipes That I Love
Of the 5 frugal instant pot recipes that I plan to share, I’d like to start with Instant Pot Chicken Alfredo Pasta. This was the first recipe I tried in my Instant Pot. It was amazing too!
Instant Pot Chicken Alfredo Pasta
Instant Pot Chicken Alfredo Pasta from my friends at Number2Pencil.com, was delicious! My whole family loved it and I still can’t believe how easy it was to make!
I would suggest making sure you stir up all the ingredients after you pour in the pasta to make sure you get each piece of pasta fully wet. A few of ours stuck together and didn’t cook fully, but still tasted amazing!
I also cooked some fresh broccoli in my pot ahead of time to add to this dish at the end. Was amazing! My husband keeps asking me to make this again!
Instant pot Spaghetti & Frozen Meatballs
Instant Pot Spaghetti & Frozen Meatballs from my friends at WonderMomWannabe.com, was another scrumptious dish!
WISH PLANNING A PARTY WAS A PIECE OF CAKE?
Again, this recipe was so simple! Can you even picture cooking everything in one pot – at the same time? The noodles straight from the box, frozen meatballs, and a jar of sauce! I mean, seriously, what could be easier!
My youngest son asks for spaghetti and meatballs at least once a week, so I’m so happy to have found a way to cook the whole meal in my Instant Pot.
It’s so nice to not have to dirty multiple pots on my stove – one for the sauce and meatballs, and one to boil the noodles. Plus, with the Instant Pot, you pour it all in and can walk away to do something else while it cooks! Like fold laundry!
Instant Pot Chicken Breast Recipe
Instant Pot Chicken Breast Recipe from my friends at sweetandsavorymeals.com was yummy!
This chicken was so yummy! Very easy, very flavorful and so scrumputious! I realize you might be thinking, Katrina, this is just chicken, what else do I serve to make a full meal?
I’m one step ahead of you! We used this chicken for cobb salad. Which, we tend to have a lot in our house. Probably because all of my kids like it, and anytime I can find a meal that all 3 of my kids like, I’m happy.
This chicken was perfect to throw on our cobb salad, served alongside banana bread. Was a yummy dinner! You could use this chicken for all sorts of things – add to pasta, or serve on a roll for a chicken sandwiches. Also, this recipe would work perfect as a make ahead basic for a week of chicken dinners.

Instant Pot Award Winning Chili
Instant Pot Award Winning Chili from my friends at OhSweetBasil.com was also awesome! I liked this recipe for Chili so much that I’ve already made it twice this month!
The crazy part, I don’t even like chili that much – but recipe was really good! I think it’s the bacon in the recipe – it just gives the chili the best flavor! Yummy yummy yummy! I ended up making this for a some friends that came over for a game night and even the little kids liked it!
My only suggestion – make sure you deglaze the pot after you cook the meats. I successfully got the Food Burn message both times I made this. Just make sure the bottom of the pot is free from all bits of burnt on food before you put all the other ingredients in to cook.
Next time I make this recipe, I plan to cook my bacon, and then brown my beef. Then I plan to deglaze the pot very well with my beef stock set on the Saute function before adding all the other ingredients to the pot. Do that and hopefully you won’t get the Food Burn message. Besides that, this recipe tastes wonderful!
Instant Pot Pork Chops
Instant Pot Pork Chops from my friends at SpendWithPennies.com was scrumptious!
Again, another one of my 5 frugal instant pot recipes that I love! Plus, my daughter loved this recipe so much she keeps asking me to make it again! I’ve always struggled to make pork chops that actually taste good and don’t dry out – so I was so happy when I made this recipe and they tasted amazing!
I even folded another load of laundry while this cooked and was so happy to have an extra chore done while I was cooking.
I don’t usually buy pork chops, but I did find some great deals in the clearance on meat not too long ago and ended up with a value pack size of thin pork chops. It was such a good deal I decided to purchase them and try to find a recipe later.
